Lisa Lowe RN, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. OM., MSOM

As an acupuncturist in private practice for 5 years, Lisa Lowe has treated men, women and children of all ages, for a wide variety of health conditions, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, ulcerative colitis, IBS, arthritis, sports related pain, allergies, migraines, tics & seizures, infertility (both male and female factors), menopause and menstrual related discomforts and infantile colic.

Lisa began her journey in the healing arts in the 1980’s, after the birth of her first 2 daughters, when she began teaching homebirth education classes. Later she earned certification as a Massage Therapist, and then continued on from there to nursing school. She graduated with honors from the rigorous Front Range Community College Nursing Program in 1985. In that same year, she gave birth to her 3rd beautiful daughter, and began receiving acupuncture, which successfully treated her chronic hayfever!

During her tenure at Lutheran Medical Center, Lisa worked in maternal-child health and labor & delivery. She also worked for the Solace program, providing grief support and education groups for parents enduring pregnancy or newborn losses.

After pursuing many years of study on her own in nutrition, herbs, and natural healing, Lisa made the decision to enter a formal institution of study in alternative health, finally fulfilling a lifelong dream. She entered Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Boulder Colorado in 1999.

Lisa made a point to take advantage of SWAC’s many specialized clinical internships available, such as the Oncology clinic at Longmont Hospital, Boulder County AIDS project, and Golden West Retirement Community. She also took both required and elective courses in Pediatrics, Pediatric Clinic, Women’s health, and Women’s health clinic, herb clinics and Sports Medicine Clinics.

Since graduating from SWAC with a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine, Lisa has taken and passed the national board exams in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, (Dipl. Ac. And Dipl. OM), signifying competency in acupuncture, safe needling technique, the administration of Chinese herbal medicinals, oriental nutritional therapy, and oriental body therapies (Tui Na massage and Shiatsu).

When she is not in the clinic treating patients, she may be found out hiking, singing, or in the garden with one of her granddaughters.
