As an acupuncturist practicing for over 7 years, Lisa Lowe has treated men, women and children of all ages, for a wide variety of health conditions, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, ulcerative colitis, IBS, arthritis, sports related pain, allergies, migraines, tics & seizures, infertility (both male and female factors), menopause and menstrual related discomforts and infantile colic.
Lisa began her journey in the healing arts in the 1980's, after the birth of her first 2 daughters, when she began teaching homebirth education classes. Later she earned certification as a Massage Therapist, and then continued on from there to nursing school. She graduated with honors from the rigorous Front Range Community College Nursing Program in 1985. In that same year, she gave birth to her 3rd beautiful daughter, and began receiving acupuncture, which successfully treated her chronic hayfever!
During her tenure at Lutheran Medical Center, Lisa worked in maternal-child health and labor & delivery. She also worked for the Solace program, providing grief support and education groups for parents enduring pregnancy or newborn losses.
After pursuing many years of study on her own in nutrition, herbs, and natural healing, Lisa made the decision to enter a formal institution of study in alternative health, finally fulfilling a lifelong dream. She entered Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Boulder Colorado in 1999.
Lisa made a point to take advantage of SWAC's many specialized clinical internships available, such as the Oncology clinic at Longmont Hospital, Boulder County AIDS project, and Golden West Retirement Community. She also took both required and elective courses in Pediatrics, Pediatric Clinic, Women's health, and Women's health clinic, herb clinics and Sports Medicine Clinics.
Since graduating from SWAC with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine, Lisa has taken and passed the national board exams in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, (Dipl. Ac. And Dipl. OM), signifying competency in acupuncture, safe needling technique, the administration of Chinese herbal medicinals, oriental nutritional therapy, and oriental body therapies (Tui Na massage and Shiatsu).
When she is not in the clinic treating patients, she may be found out hiking, singing, or in the garden with one of her granddaughters.

Karen Marks, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. OM., MSOM
Specialty: Acupuncture
Karen Marks has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for 7 years. She primarily uses Japanese-style acupuncture, as well as adjunct therapies such as moxa, cupping, tuina/shiatsu, and electrical stimulation. Karen enjoys working with children, using a Japanese technique called Sho-ni-shin, which utilizes special tools for tapping and rubbing the skin in place of- and sometimes in addition to- needling. She is also trained in cosmetic acupuncture.
Karen first became interested in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine when she was successfully treated for back pain and asthma while studying music at UCLA. After graduating Cum Laude with a double specialization in jazz studies and music education, she spent a year in Japan teaching English and studying the Japanese culture and language. She also visited Thailand, Mongolia and China during this time.
After returning to the US, Karen attended Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Boulder, Colorado. There, she received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine, which included an intense education in both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture and herbal medicine, as well as classes in the western medical biosciences, physics and chemistry.
Karen took part in many specialized internships, including those at the Longmont Oncology Clinic, Boulder County AIDS Project, and Golden West Retirement Community. At the onsite clinic at SWAC, she also participated in the Japanese-style, sports medicine and herbal specialty clinics, as well as the regular acupuncture/herb clinics.
For the last several years, Karen has been working in a variety of clinics treating conditions ranging from pain and PMS to insomnia and digestive disorders. Karen is a native of Arvada, Colorado, and she enjoys hiking, biking (both on road and off), skiing and travelling, as well as listening to or performing music, reading and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Leonard, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. OM., MSOM

Jennifer Leonard is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese Medical practitioner as licensed by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the California State Acupuncture Board. Graduating from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego her acupuncture and herbal training has specialized in internal medicine, oncology, geriatrics and pain management. She has also had extensive training in structural alignment and nutrition.
Jennifer worked and studied for 1 month at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Chengdu, China. As a visiting intern, she focused on herbal prescription and acupuncture for diseases such as diabetes, stroke, bells palsy, respiratory illness, psychiatry, oncology and digestive disorders.
Jennifer has worked at San Diego Children's Hospital in the Hematology/Oncology unit treating pediatric patients both in-patient and out-patient with Chinese Medicine. She also provided Chinese Medicine to the Chronic Pain program treating children as part of the Integrative Medicine program at Children's Hospital. Jennifer has been a part of Chinese Medicine programs in hospice care, geriatric clinics and homeless clinics.
Jennifer found an interest in integrating conventional medicine and Chinese medicine as she worked in an emergency room and ambulatory care center in Philadelphia as a patient care technician. She began her training in alternative therapies through experiencing and learning Reiki, then continued on to study Chinese Medicine in New York, and eventually, in San Diego.
Jennifer is happy to live in Denver now and to continue treating patients in the community setting at Olde Town Acupuncture & Wellness Center.

Amy Rattenbury, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. OM., MSOM

Amy Rattenbury received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado with over 3000 hours of training in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, western pathology and pharmacology, Tuina and Shiatsu massage, and nutrition. She also completed 3 years of clinical rotations as part of her studies including pain management, pediatric, women's health, oncology, auricular, and 5 Element acupuncture. Amy is a Colorado licensed acupuncturist and a certified Chinese herbalist as well as nationally board certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Before studying Chinese medicine, Amy received her Bachelors Degree in East Asian Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder with minors in Political Science and Japanese in 1998. Most recently, Amy returned from a two month volunteer position with the Acupuncture Relief Project in Nepal where she administered over 600 treatments for stroke, acute & chronic pain, drug addiction, HIV/AIDs, digestive, respiratory and infertility disorders.
Amy is especially passionate about Acutonics, a system of utilizing tuning forks rather than needles to open and access acupuncture points and their corresponding meridians, as well as 5 Element acupuncture to address emotional, mental as well as physical imbalances of the body. When not at work, Amy enjoys cross country skiing, hiking, biking, and soaking in the many beautiful hot springs of Colorado.

Maria Pereskokova, CMT

Maria Pereskokova graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts and is passionate about massage therapy. Maria specializes in relaxation as well as therapeutic massage techniques to alleviate chronic pain and facilitate injury rehabilitation.
She is trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports, Prenatal and Hot Stone massage. Maria plans to continue her training in Lymphatic Drainage and Craniosacral massage and will be offering these specialties in the near future.
Maria also holds a Masters Degree in Music and teaches at the Russian School of the Arts and Humanities. She moved to the United States in 2001 with her husband and two daughters and enjoys playing music and spending time with her family in her free time.

Elena is a Nationally Board Certified Reflexologist. She collaborates with clients to reduce stress, and promote health and wellness in their lives. She has worked with clients experiencing chronic pain such as back pain, sciatica, migraines, arthritis, carpal tunnel, intestinal disorders, insomnia, depression, stress and anxiety. In addition to Colorado, she has also practiced reflexology in Central Mexico and Florida.
As a Wellness Coach, Elena works with clients faced with major life transitions such as health, career, and relationship challenges. Elena brings her personal as well as professional background dealing with life crises and healing to her practice using holistic modalities as well as conventional medical options.
Elena holds a Masters degree in Education from Harvard University. Deanne Drda, RScP
